WhatsApp last week finally announced the ability to mute chat conversations on its app… forever.

Many would argue that the best way for anyone to permanently mute a conversation on WhatsApp would be to simply uninstall the app. Sure, that would be the easiest, but say you don’t want to get rid of WhatsApp because there are some conversations you want to follow at your convenience?

Well, WhatsApp finally has the answer. Users on Android, iOS, and the web are now able to mute a chat forever, in addition to 8 hours and one week.

The new feature is called “Always Mute” and was added to the WhatsApp beta on Android and iOS earlier this month. It was even spotted late last month by 9to5Google. Now, as announced by WhatsApp last week, the feature is available for everyone.
